Work Teams

Since our humble beginnings in the Fall of 2016, work teams have been instrumental in the Peaceful Pause site developing to where it is today.

This has included trail work, care for the land, garden projects, building (general and finish carpentry) and renovations.  Work teams will continue to be vital in the advancement of the ministry site.

A work team experience is more than just a time of laboring.  It is a spiritual experience.  We craft the time, whether it be days or a week or more, to provide a rounded experience of labor, fellowship, fun and spiritual deepening.  We work with each team leader to meet the needs of the team wherever they are on their journey with Jesus.

Let’s talk more about the possibilities of what this experience could look like for you and your team (see the comments below from prior teams).  Send an email inquiry if seriously interested.

Montana was an amazing life-giving experience for our entire family! Montana not only brought our family closer, but our team grew so much closer together on our trip. Our time spent in the cabin and time spent exploring in the wild provided an opportune time for God to open our hearts and allow so much needed healing for our souls. We found Montana was the perfect place for us to rest, retreat, and reset our relationship with each other and with Jesus.  We're so grateful for the time spent with Rog & Deb, and we long for the day to return once again.

My first trip to Rog and Deb's was about 4 years ago. I went into that trip not really knowing what to expect other than to build a deck and have a fun week in the mountains!  I was part of an 8-man team that went out and we had the time of our lives!! Rog and Deb were great hosts and Diz and Augie were a blast to be around as well!! The work was hard but rewarding! The mountains were beautiful quiet and loud all at the same time! Its amazing how loud it is when you take a minute to be still! After we got done with the trip I loved it so much that I said I was going back! So I went back 2 years later and we are going back again this summer!!

The opportunity to bring work teams and serve the ministry and mission of Peaceful Pause is so much more than a volunteer experience.  Jesus reminds us to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.  He calls us to engage all aspects of who we are to serve him.  When working and serving at Peaceful Pause, our teams -  individual students and families alike - have the opportunity to engage in deeper intimacy with the Father, Son and Spirit through the initiation of our hearts, souls, minds, bodies and collective fellowship with our friends and neighbors.  Meditating on Psalm 36:5-6 while exerting your body to dig in trail, and listening to someone's journey while the Spirit simultaneously whispers words of faith, hope and love to you is a powerful act of worship, restoring your whole being.  This mix of a rugged natural setting, hard physical work and spiritual exercise is a powerful combination for one's discipleship journey and spiritual formation.
